I fell into a career in long-term care and can't imagine myself doing anything else. Improving the quality of life for the most deserving members of our society is not only meaningful but also challenging and rewarding at the same time. In my position, I get the added bonus of having a positive impact on the lives of the staff as well.
I have enjoyed serving seniors for over 33 years. The best part of my job has nothing to do with secretarial work. The most rewarding part is assisting residents and their families with the many little things that come up. I get a tremendous sense of accomplishment when I hear a resident say, “I’m so glad I moved here. You have helped to make it easy.” I look forward every day to helping our residents feel good about their decision to live on our campus.
I joined the Zarrow Pointe team with a 20+ year history in nonprofit accounting. I’m a CPA with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. It’s my privilege to apply my skills to serve the wonderful residents of this community. When I’m away from the office, I enjoy rooting on my alma mater’s football team (Go Irish!) and working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities and related causes.
I joined Zarrow Pointe after working in healthcare for over 20 years, and I wouldn't want to work anywhere else. The residents, staff, and families make Zarrow Pointe an amazing place to live, work, and visit. When I'm away from work, I am spending time with my family. I'm married to my high school sweetheart, Joe, and we have two grown kids, Kaeli and Isaiah. We love to spend time outdoors and often hike on Turkey Mountain, just a short drive away from our campus.
I joined the Zarrow Pointe team in 1999, and it has been a truly rewarding experience. In addition to my background in physical therapy and personal training, I have worked exclusively with geriatrics since 1994. My greatest reward is making a difference in someone’s day. Each time I see a person’s quality of life improve as a result of what we do, it makes it all worthwhile.
I joined Zarrow Pointe in July of 2021 as the Director of Human Resources. With over 20 years of Human Resources experience, 18 in Healthcare, I am excited to call Zarrow Pointe my new home. I received my Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication from The University of Tulsa and have been certified as a Professional in Human Resources since 2002. In my spare time, I enjoy outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends.
There is no other career I could imagine having! Every day when I go home I know I have positively impacted someone’s life. I believe respect and dignity are a right all should have. There is nothing better than working with a team to positively impact someone throughout the progression of their life.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Oklahoma State University in 2013. Before working in a health care setting, I was a social worker for the state of Oklahoma and Colorado serving abused and neglected children for five years. Being a support for residents and their families is very rewarding, and I hope it brings them comfort knowing I am here for them every step of the way during their time at Zarrow Pointe. It is an honor to serve our residents and I am so thankful to be here!
I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2008, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2011. I have worked in a variety of positions over the years as a nurse, including hospice and home health. I found myself falling in love with caring for the senior population and looking for a place to call home. My desire was to work in a patient/resident centered environment with a great team and staff who show care and compassion for everyone they serve. I have found that at Zarrow Pointe. It is a place of high-quality care, and I am proud to be a part of their team.
I have worked as the executive chef and assistant food services director for Zarrow Pointe since 2013. I grew up on a family farm in Broken Bow, where I learned the value of fresh ingredients and from-scratch cooking. I began cooking for my family at a very young age and after earning an associate’s degree in culinary arts and a BA in restaurant management, I began pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming a professional chef. After working for the Southern Hills Country Club and Montereau, I found a home here at Zarrow Pointe.
I have spent over 30 years in the hospitality industry, with the last 10 years in management. I received my bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management from University of Maryland Eastern Shore and completed my MBA in operations management with AIU. I also have a food safety certification, along with a hotel instructor certification from American Hotel and Lodging Association. Working at Zarrow Pointe allows me to bring hospitality and healthcare together under one roof and give our residents a welcoming environment.
My background in the architectural and construction industries for the last 30 years has prepared me for the challenges of maintaining the systems I've designed and built. Zarrow Pointe has provided me with the opportunity to help what I consider to be our greatest and most important generation of people. It is a true pleasure to work here. I can now honestly say I leave work with a good feeling about what I've accomplished on any given day.
